CBD Helps Connecticut Chiropractor With Lyme Disease To Quit OTC Medications

If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past few years, you have undoubtedly heard about cannabidiol (CBD). The cannabis extract has been impressing consumers with its medicinal properties, and it is set to be one of, if not the most, versatile medicines of the century. The compound has been found effective against a host of conditions ranging from chronic pain to seizures in rare childhood epilepsies.

At least 40% of the people who use CBD do so for pain relief. Gene Gresh, a compounding pharmacist, says, “Anecdotally, we see amazing pain relief qualities when it’s used topically. When used orally, we see things like reduced anxiety and depression and improved sleep.” One of the people who’ve benefited greatly from CBD’s pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties is Lou Confrancesco, a chiropractic doctor.

“I’ve been dealing with Lyme Disease for about three years and its inflammatory process that goes into the joints,” he says. “Even after you kill the bug, you’re still left with the damage. When I discovered CBD oil, it put my body into balance.”

Lyme disease is an infectious disease that’s transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected black-legged or deer tick. It is characterized by fatigue, joint pain and swelling, headaches, muscle aches, and sleep disturbances.

“I was taking over the counter things and rubbing things in. I was taking Aspirin, Tylenol or some other anti-inflammatory, but I don’t take any of that anymore,” he says. With the help of cannabidiol, he was able to lower the inflammation caused by the disease so much so that he could finally get off pharmaceuticals.

“In the mornings,” he says, “I can hardly walk. I have to really take the time to get my joints working and stretch out. That’s when I take it on an empty stomach. I can feel pretty much within half an hour that the pulsing pain that’s within the joints begin to quiet down, and they loosen up so I can move.”

He has started recommending CBD oil to his patients aside from his usual services, and he says the results have been astounding. “I’ve had people with Parkinson’s and MS, terrible things that go on, different types of arthritis.” CBD, with its anti-inflammatory properties, is ideally suited to handle these conditions.

However, he adds that CBD oil is not a magic bullet. For it to work effectively, it has to be paired with a proper diet, enough exercise, and a generally healthy lifestyle. “It’s not a miracle drug. It’s not for everything or everybody, but I believe that the future is going to bring us a lot more information as we begin to refine it.”

Experts are convinced that such personal testimonies provide great motivation to cannabidiol companies like Grapefruit Boulevard Investments Inc. (OTCQB: IGNG) and Dama Financial to invest more in R & D so that even more people can be helped by this versatile cannabinoid.
