CBD-Infused Cuban Coffee Introduced onto the Market by Florida Company

October 3, 2019 15:00:34

In Miami, people believe Cuban coffee to be the reason crystal meth is not favored. Cuban coffee which is referred to as “Cuban cocaine” by tourists, is a sweet nectary shot of espresso and it is believed to trigger rage occasionally.

Recently, Cuban coffee infused with marijuana compound CBD was introduced into the market by a company in Florida. The purpose of the coffee is to help you take the edge off. CBD is a non-psychoactive compound in marijuana which has a proven track record of reducing anxiety; therefore, the coffee does not get you high.

A co-founder of Coldfire Roasters while at the USA CBD Expo in Miami Beach where he was promoting the coffee said that Cuban coffee is also referred to as “primary con.”

Mendez lives in Miami while his partner lives in Tampa. Earlier this year the two founded Coldfire Roasters in Tampa. Tampa’s Cuban culture dates back to the 20th century when the tobacco industry in the Gulf Coast city used Cuban workers.

Naviera Coffee Mills was co-founded by Gregorio Carlos Menendez, a Spanish immigrant in the year 1921 in New York City.  It is the oldest Cuban coffee-style company in Tampa. Today the company is operated by the family’s fourth generation.

In 1928, another Spanish immigrant from Cuba, Gregorio Menendez Bustelo founded Café Bustelo in New York City; which is a favorite brand of Miami residents. Another coffee company that is still in existence today is the Café La Llave, which was founded by Cuban immigrant descendants of Jose Maria and Ramon Gavina. The two brothers migrated from Spain to Cuba in 1870.

Cuban espresso in Coldfire Roasters is rich, dark, and bold mimicking the traditional brands of Cuban coffee. When the CBD is added to the coffee, the taste stays the same. An appropriate dosage of 10mg of CBD is added to each shot of espresso. More so, it results in mental awareness and improved cognitive function.

Coldfire Roasters also provides its customers with a Columbia blend of coffee infused with CBD. Compared to the Cuban espresso, this blend has a smoother body.

Apart from Coldfire Roasters, Mendez is also the owner of Studio Center Productions. He says in the next few months, Coldfire Roasters is planning on opening a new branch in South Florida. He further added that the branch isn’t totally new since it has been catering to everyone by selling coffee without CBD. However, hemp-infused coffee will be the new store specialty.

It would be interesting to know what CBD companies like Neutra Corp. (OTCQB: NTRR) and Organigram Holdings Inc. (TSX: OGI) (NASDAQ: OGI) have to say about the tough Cuban coffee being paired with the calming properties of CBD.
