Cannabis is a divisive plant, and people tend to have differing opinions on it. The plant is mostly known for its two primary cannabinoids, THC delta-9 (tetrahydrocannabinol) and cannabidiol (CBD). THC is the principal psychoactive agent in cannabis, and that’s what gives users the infamous psychotropic high. CBD, on the other hand, affects the body quite differently. Unlike the out of body high THC users experience, CBD is a miracle drug of sorts. Users have reported relief from chronic pain and inflammation, insomnia, anxiety, and a host of other diseases. Despite this, people often lump the two together, and a recent study carried out in the UK found out that a lot of people have trouble differentiating the two compounds.
The project was commissioned by CBD oil manufacturer Dr. Ed, and of the 2000 adults surveyed, more than three-quarters of them were confused about CBD. Although CBD oil is legal in the UK as it does not contain THC, two-thirds of the people believe the product is illegal.
