  • Eli Gravitt discusses Auburn football, the 2022 class, additional recruits and motivations behind choosing schools
Every Wednesday, The JBoy Show updates fans on everything SEC football/basketball recruiting with some of the business’s best insiders. On Oct. 21, 2020, show host Jake Crain and guests discussed the changes since the previous week. Auburn was on everyone’s mind. Insider Tay joined Crain to talk football recruits. Right now, Jeremiah “Scooby” Williams is weighing his top three schools, the two noted. Auburn, Florida and Georgia top the list, but Scooby seems to be changing his mind daily. On Oct. 10, he was going to commit to Auburn, but after the Georgia game, he is reweighing his options. As of right now, Tay sees Georgia in the lead. Ga’Quincy McKinstry, aka Koolaid, was leaning toward Auburn until the Georgia game. Now it appears that he too is taking a second look at his choices. Alabama seems to be Koolaid’s current favorite, with Auburn following in second place and LSU coming in third. Auburn appears to have lost both Koolaid and Scooby, noted Tay. The good news for Auburn is that three-star linebacker Trevin Wallace appears to be leaning in the school’s direction. Currently, he is committed to Boston College, but Auburn may be able to flip him. Georgia and South Carolina have not given up on Wallace either. Recruiting is continually changing, making the recruiting roundup new and exciting every week. Regular Wednesday guest Jay Phillips from “The Bruce Blog” joined the show for the basketball recruiting discussion. Phillips referenced the previous day’s show with Auburn five-star 2021 basketball commit Jabari Smith Jr. and observed that Scoot Henderson and Joyful Hawkins may be joining Smith at Auburn. During the show, Smith made the comment that he wants to take Caleb Washington with him to Auburn. It’s a possibility as he recently added the Tigers to his top ten. Washington is a solid player, makes plays above the rim and can get things done at both ends of the court. Another interest, seven-foot center Sage Tolentino, who has made a verbal commitment to Auburn. He plays smooth, has decent range and is already a strong defender. In the third segment of the show, Crain welcomed Eli Gravitt to the show. The two discussed Auburn football, the 2022 class, additional recruits and motivations behind choosing schools. Recruiting Roundups can be found, along with all the JBoy Show podcast episodes, on Anchor, iTunes/Apple, Spotify, Google, Breaker, Overcast, PocketCasts, RadioPublic or YouTube. Hosted by Jake Crain, the JBoy Show burst on the podcast scene in April 2020, delivering an in-depth look at Southeastern Conference (“SEC”) sports emphasizing the SEC West.
