What better place than the City of Brotherly Love to host an event that promotes democratization and diversity in blockchain? Philadelphia creates an ideal backdrop for Coinvention, which is returning to the city for its September gathering.
Held at the same venue as last year – the historic Loews Hotel in downtown Philadelphia – Coinvention 2019 will continue its mission of cultivating co-invention in blockchain projects by hosting gatherings that foster collaboration in the crypto community. A major objective of this year’s event is to drive diversity through the inclusion of underrepresented groups, such as women and ethnic minorities. With that in mind, Coinvention 2019 will feature presentations from spokespeople representing several minority organizations sharing their perspectives on the new technology.
This year’s event, a two-day smorgasbord of addresses, panel discussions, workshops and social functions, kicks off on Friday, September 20, with a free hackathon & meetup. The headline event, Coinvention 2019, starts on Saturday, September 21, at 9:30 a.m. and goes until 6:00 p.m., followed directly by a soirée that’s scheduled to continue throughout the evening. Come join the hundreds of other blockchain developers, enthusiasts, executives and investors as Coinvention 2019 continues to drive democratization and diversity in blockchain.
Aligning with the peer-to-peer spirit of democratization that conceived blockchain technology, Coinvention 2019 is working with several different groups, including the following:
- Diversity in Blockchain Inc. (DiB), a nonprofit organization committed to creating equal, open and inclusive opportunities in the blockchain industry;
- The Blockchain for Social Impact Coalition (BSIC), which aims to leverage the Ethereum blockchain for social impact by incubating, developing and implementing confederated blockchain products and solutions that can address social and environmental challenges across the United Nation’s sustainable development goals;
- Black Blockchain Consultants, which is working to educate, empower and equip its members so that they can profit from the $3.1 trillion blockchain industry; and
- Women on the Block, the brainchild of attorney Alexandra Levin Kramer and an organization that’s committed to increasing the involvement of women in blockchain.
Coinvention 2019 features 32 leaders and innovators in the crypto space speaking on mass-market blockchain adoption, regulation in the industry, applications of the technology and other key crypto-related issues. Recent additions include Jeremy Gardner and Nick Spanos. Presentations will be segmented, with three to four keynote addresses and demos, followed by Q&A, eight STO/ICO presentations and several panels for follow-up discussion.
