October 25, 2019 12:49:41

XLIVE Conference & Expo 2019, set for November 17-20 at the MGM Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, promises to be as much about taste as it is about tech. This year’s event will shine a spotlight on immersive experiential design, from brand activations to cutting-edge entertainment in a special LiveX Symposium. The XLIVE extravaganza will showcase the ways that digital technologies are transforming the development and presentation of live events. For event organizers, XLIVE 2019 will provide a unique learning environment showing how to create more immersive, satisfying experiences for attendees.

The LiveX Symposium will take place Wednesday, November 20, with a variety of sessions throughout the day. Topics will include ‘Digital Environments as Today’s Scenic Design’, which explores the use of lighting and other technologies, and ‘Becoming a Festivalite: Designing for Music Festivals and Live Events’, which takes a look at captivating stage and set designs from the world’s largest festivals, including Electric Dairy Carnival and Electric Forest.

The four-day XLIVE Annual Conference & Expo is set to feature the richest and most comprehensive curriculum currently available for live-event and entertainment professionals, and more than 1,300 of them are expected to attend. Conference goers will enjoy more than 40 workshops, panel discussions, networking events and other sessions. In addition, some 200 influential leaders, including Ashely Crowder of VNTANA, Matt Kenagy of Caesars and Carola Jain of Spartan Race, are scheduled to speak on a variety of topics that include experiential marketing and fan engagement, producing international events, ticketing, event diversity, sustainability and more.

Crowder is founder and CEO of VNTANA, a Los Angeles-based company that has developed a system for projecting holograms. Kenagy is the senior director of strategic development at Caesars Entertainment, best known for its casinos. Jain is in charge of marketing and brand strategy at Spartan, the leading obstacle-course racing company. Jain is also the co-lead behind the global launch of Spartan Women, a female-focused platform that connects women and girls from all over the world in sports.

Event technology has moved on from its Rolodex days. Today, the digital tool kit available to event planners is large and getting larger. For example, XLIVE attendees will experience wearable networking badges by Klik, a device that allows users to exchange contact information by simply “kliking” their badges together. Klik badges eliminate the need for business cards, a point which XLIVE conference attendees will surely appreciate. Moreover, using the event app, attendees can pose questions to session moderators.
