When registration opened for the annual Cannabis World Congress & Business Exposition (CWCBExpo) in New York City, it kicked off what is expected to be a “huge year for cannabis” while commencing a countdown to the largest B2B cannabis industry trade show on the East Coast.

CWCBExpo will be located at the economic hub of New York’s world-class metropolis in a state where Gov. Andrew Cuomo vowed to legalize adult recreational-use marijuana when he started off the year with his State of the State address (http://cnw.fm/5rc2B).

Cuomo also called for the State University of New York (SUNY) to form a cannabis and hemp research center to establish New York’s position as a leading force in setting aside decades of federal prohibition that have hindered not only legal access to the plant’s benefits but also research that would have helped to scientifically establish its merits for the Food and Drug Administration’s purposes.

While cannabis has enjoyed a new, resurgent acceptance under full legalization in Canada, the United States employs a patchwork set of laws established on a state-by-state basis, with the federal government taking a varied approach to respecting state rights and enforcing its own oversight authority.

All of this creates a fertile field for competitive claims in the industry. CWCBExpo provides the ideal forum for participants to take the pulse of the marketplace and envision what lies ahead.

The trade show and conference returns to New York City, May 28-30, 2020, for its seventh annual event with seminars, expo floor access, informed speakers, networking opportunities and responsive workshops on cannabis law for entrepreneurs and investors, cannabinoid medicine and insights on how to navigate the hemp industry amid changes during the past year in regulations and commercialization.

The event will take place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center on Manhattan’s West Side, one of the busiest convention centers in the nation. CWCBExpo has moved upstairs to the third floor, tripling its space for exhibits.

Active outreach and collaboration with community organizations, non-profits and cultural events in New York and the tri-state region are underway to create the most dynamic CWCBExpo Cannabis Week for stakeholders in the booming cannabis industry. Exciting updates will be announced soon.
