MiningNewsBreaks – Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR) Applauds President Trump’s Bold Action to Address Threat of Foreign Reliance on Critical Minerals

October 2, 2020 10:10:39

Energy Fuels (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR), a leading producer of uranium and vanadium in the United States, on Thursday announced that President Trump issued an Executive Order on Addressing the Threat to the Domestic Supply Chain from Reliance on Critical Minerals from Foreign Adversaries (the ” Order “). Energy Fuels believes the Order may be a major step toward providing tangible support and/or funding directed toward producers and processors of critical minerals. “President Trump made a strong statement last night on the importance of bringing the production of critical minerals back to the United States. In 2018, the Administration deemed 35 minerals critical to U.S. national security and the economy. For 31 of these 35 minerals, the U.S. imports more than half of our requirements. And, for 14 of these 35 minerals, the U.S. is effectively 100% dependent on imports,” Mark S. Chalmers, president and CEO of Energy Fuels, said in the news release. “These minerals are needed for aerospace, computers, cell phones, electrical generation and transmission, renewable energy systems and batteries, and advanced electronics. This is an unacceptable situation for a superpower like the United States, and we applaud President Trump for taking bold action to address this critical need.”

Minerals: Changing the Game in the Medical Sector

September 30, 2020 09:00:43

Life-saving medications and medical appliances have their foundations in minerals that occur naturally and are extracted by the mining industry in America. These metals and minerals propel the present-day medical world when combined with fresh ideas. This has made it easier to address public health issues while helping patients who need medical care.

One such metal is copper. Copper has many valuable properties such as its malleability and its resistance to corrosion. Additionally, it is also ductile and is the sole hard metal registered by the Environmental Protection Agency in the year 2008 as a touch surface with antimicrobial properties. Adding to these many industrial implementations, studies have shown that it can be used to reduce…

Agriculture and Mining: Can They Coexist?

September 29, 2020 11:00:05

Mining is the extraction of minerals, ores, clay, fossil fuels, gravel and stone, among other commodities. The increase in demand for minerals, such as gold and silver, has influenced a steady rise in metal mining and mineral extraction from the ore over the years. The mining industry provides different industries with raw materials by a variety of entities like Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR). Take for instance, the steel and iron industries who use mineral ore as a raw material for their operations. The finished products of these industries are used as raw materials in other industries as the industrial system encompasses several inputs, processes as well as outputs.

The agricultural industry on the other hand, is one of the most essential industries in the world.  This industry predominantly thrives on fertile land and water resources. Agricultural produce demand is significantly increasing due to the population surge. It is noted that the world market is inclined to pay more for organically grown products with an abundance…

Underwater Mining: An Effective Way to Access Mineral Resources

September 28, 2020 14:30:57

Mining companies interested in a different yet more efficient method to extract minerals underwater should look into project VAMOS. This project is in the process of inventing a mining system that can be operated underwater whose main purpose is to access minerals underground in underwater unmined deposits as well as in deserted flooded mines, which are difficult to extract using standard mining techniques.

This robotic mining system opens up the way for reviving deserted and flooded mines that have open pits. The technology has the capability to lengthen the lifespan of opencast mines with high stripping ratios where huge quantities of waste rock require to be mined to obtain a given quantity of ore or with hydrological and geotechnical problems. This technology…

About GoldHaven Resources Corp.

GoldHaven is a Canadian junior exploration company active in the Maricunga Gold Belt of Northern Chile. The Maricunga measures 150 km north-south and 30 km. east-west and is host to discoveries in the last 10 years of 100M oz. gold; 450M oz. silver and 13 billion lbs. copper. The company has agreements in place to acquire seven projects with extensive surface study. GoldHaven has identified four of its seven properties as being “high-priority targets,” three of which the company plans to drill commencing January 2021. These priority targets were designated as such due, first, to the analytical work that has been completed on all the properties and, second, to their relative locations in respect to existing deposits. One such existing project is Coya, located approximately 16 km. northeast of the La Coipa mine, where Kinross extracted over 6.2 million oz. Other existing projects include Rio Loa and Alicia, which are respectively 25 km. and 30 km. distance from GoldHaven’s Salares Norte deposit with a discovery of 5M oz. gold, 450M oz. silver and 13B oz. copper. A Review of How Heat Treatments Have Been Used in Mining

September 28, 2020 12:25:40

From the past, we have observed heat treatments being used in the mining industry in different ways. The earliest recording of this was in Greece, in the 1st century BC. Diodorus Siculus of Sicily, an ancient Greek Historian, shows fire setting being used in mining.

This was done by putting a large fire to the rock face which needed mining. This caused internal fractures in the rock face due to uneven heating which weakened the rock, enough to be worked. Water was added to the rock face when the fire had reduced and then it was worked to extract the soft ore one foot at a time. This process was repeated when they ran into hard rock. Temperature fluctuations…

Canadian Federal Government Invests Millions in Mining Wastewater Treatment

September 18, 2020 11:00:37

As many mining operations use water on a large scale, in various processes, this produces wastewater that is highly concentrated in pollutants due to the contact between various minerals and the water. Mining pollutants can be caused by:

  • Water leaching, concentration and flotation
  • Wash water
  • Contaminants from gas scrubbers and refining
  • Flow process acids

Additionally, rain that penetrates mine tailings can cause hydrolysis, oxidation and washing, which produces wastewater that is highly contaminated. If this wastewater is discharged into the environment without being treated, it may contaminate the environment that surrounds the mines. With the harsh impact of wastewater pollution on the mining and ecology sectors, many governments…

MiningNewsBreaks – Kingman Minerals Ltd. (TSX.V: KGS) Set to Benefit as Gold Surpasses Forecast Numbers, Reaches Record Price

September 17, 2020 12:28:54

Kingman Minerals (TSX.V: KGS), a Canadian-listed gold miner with extensive claims in key mining jurisdictions spanning the North American continent, is ideally positioned in a market where gold recently crested the $2,000 per oz. mark. Investors looking for a safe haven in a chaotic market are sparking the record-breaking spike, with the precious metal rising by $560 an oz. already this year. And experts don’t expect the price to level out any time soon. Goldman Sachs recently revised its previous gold forecast of $2,000 per oz., announcing that it now epects that the market will see gold at $2,300 an ounce within the next 12 months. A recent article discussing the upward trajectory of gold noted that “meanwhile, the IMF has estimated that global governments have introduced fiscal support measures amounting to over $9 trillion since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic (http://ibn.fm/mCYex). The resulting weakness in the U.S. dollar (the euro has appreciated over 10% relative to the US dollar since March) and eventual inflationary pressures stemming from these measures have led to a surge in demand for gold – with the two most popular gold ETFs adding nearly 400 tonnes or 12 million ounces of gold to their combined inventories over the past few months.”

About Kingman Minerals Ltd.

Kingman Minerals is currently engaged in the business of precious-metal mineral exploration for the purpose of acquiring and advancing nongrassroots mineral properties located in mining-friendly jurisdictions of North America. The Mohave Project is located in the Music Mountains in Mohave County, Arizona, and is comprised of 20 lode claims that are inclusive of the past-producing Rosebud Mine. High-grade gold and silver veins were discovered in the area in the 1880s and were mined mainly in the late 1920s and 1930s. Underground development on the Rosebud property includes a 400-foot shaft and approximately 2,500 feet of drifts, raises and crosscuts. MiningNewsBreaks – Petroteq Energy Inc. ‎(TSX.V: PQE) (‎OTC: PQEFF) (FSE: PQCF) Announces Completion of Study, Confirmation of Technology’s Lower Costs and Increased Capabilities

September 16, 2020 11:43:29

Petroteq Energy (TSX.V: PQE) (‎OTC: PQEFF) (FSE: PQCF), an integrated oil ‎company focused on the development and implementation of its proprietary oil-‎extraction and remediation technologies, has completed a Pre-FEED (preliminary) design for a proposed 5,000 bopd oil sands plant (single train). The study, conducted by Crosstrails Engineering LLC, a subsidiary of Valkor LLC, confirmed that an initial 5,000 bopd train can be constructed using conventional oil processing equipment at an estimated cost of $92.5 million. The study also noted that the same design, in a 2-train configuration, can be used for a proposed 10,000 bopd oil sands plant in Eastern Utah. Crosstrails Engineering will now begin a FEED (Front End Engineering and Design) study to refine the design and provide further specifications and additional information. “The company has been working ‎with our engineering partners to improve production levels, and this Pre-FEED study incorporates all of the lessons learned during the initial de-bottlenecking of the pilot plant,” Petroteq COO George Stapleton stated in the press release. “Lessons learned as a result of upgrades currently underway at the pilot plant will be incorporated into the FEED Study for the 5,000 bpd plant, resulting in an improved and robust design, which can only benefit future commercial production by Petroteq and its licensees.”

About Petroteq Energy Inc.

Petroteq is a fully integrated, clean-technology company focused on the development and implementation of a new proprietary technology for oil extraction. The company has an environmentally safe and sustainable technology for the extraction and reclamation of heavy and bitumen from oil sands, oil shale deposits and shallow oil deposits. Petroteq is engaged in the development and implementation of its patented, environmentally friendly, heavy-oil processing and extraction technologies. Petroteq is currently focused on developing its oil sands resources and expanding production capacity at its Asphalt Ridge soil remediation and heavy-oil extraction processing facility located near Vernal, Utah.

Petroteq believes that ‎its technology can produce a relatively sweet, heavy crude oil from deposits of oil ‎sands without requiring the use of water and, therefore, without generating ‎wastewater, which would otherwise require the use of other treatment or disposal facilities that could be ‎harmful to the environment. Petroteq’s process is intended to be a more environmentally friendly ‎remediation technology that leaves clean residual sand that is free of hydrocarbons and can be returned to the environment without additional remediation. Could China’s Extreme Increase in Aluminum Imports Spark an Imbalance in the Sector?

September 15, 2020 14:13:33

Earlier this year, China exported much less aluminum than it imported, which is rare because China is the world’s largest producer of aluminum. In 2018 and 2019, China, a huge exporter of semis, exported about 5.2 million tons of semi-manufactured products.

The last time China was a net importer was in 2009. The aluminum import surge is expected to be short-lived, just like in 2009. However, it might be possible that we are witnessing structural…

MiningNewsBreaks – Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR), Other US Uranium Producers to Benefit from Extended Limitations on Russian Imports

September 15, 2020 09:15:27

Energy Fuels (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR), the largest uranium mining company in the United States, announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce has finalized a deal with Russia to reduce Russian imports through 2040. The Russian Suspension Agreement extends limitations on uranium imports from Russia into the United States and is a key step toward reviving the long-term health of the U.S. uranium mining industry. The agreement was originally scheduled to expire at the end of 2020 and could have resulted in unlimited Russian uranium imports into the country. “Energy Fuels thanks the Department of Commerce for its efforts in reducing U.S. dependence on Russian uranium in the long term,” said Energy Fuels president and CEO Mark Chalmers in the press release. “This is a critical step in restoring U.S. leadership in the global nuclear fuel sector and helping to revive the U.S. uranium mining industry. . . . While the agreement does a good job at blocking Russia’s stated intention to expand its share of the U.S. uranium market over the long-term, it only provides U.S. uranium miners with limited immediate relief. Today’s announcement therefore highlights the importance and urgency of Congress appropriating the funds requested by the U.S. Department of Energy to support the strategic Uranium Reserve recommended by the U.S. Nuclear Fuel Working Group.

September 14, 2020 13:45:12

Precious minerals have become very crucial that every miner is not taking chances. Some continents like Europe have realized that they are running out of these precious minerals. Furthermore, Europe is also facing competition from low-cost minerals from China. The situation is putting Europe at a critical stage as it has to struggle and recover its sustainable minerals.

However, for this to happen, Europe will have to produce many of these minerals that the region does not have. This has forced the European Union to follow the U.S. and Japan’s footsteps to build its. . .

Copper Mining Revolutions that are Beneficial to the Environment

September 11, 2020 14:30:22

For many years, companies like Kingman Minerals Ltd. (TSX.V: KGS) have produced copper that is utilized in many sectors, given its many qualities, such as its high electrical and thermal conductivity. In this day and age, roughly half of all the copper produced in the world is an essential for electricity sectors around the globe. Its common use may also be attributed to the fact that copper can be reused for an indefinite amount of time without losing any of its physical or chemical properties. Recycled copper is identical to primary copper and its production uses less energy.

Reusing copper increases its usability as per a report on CopperAlliance.org, which stated that about 75% of copper that was produced…

September 10, 2020 11:57:19

Kingman Minerals (TSX.V: KGS), a Canada-listed gold miner with extensive claims in key mining jurisdictions spanning North America, intends to increase gold production in anticipation of rising prices. Despite recent drops, the value of gold continues to endure and set record highs as investors shift capital to “safe haven” assets like precious metals. A recent article discussing this reads, “KGS anticipated the rising trend of gold prices long before they reached this critical point, sourcing historic mining sites throughout North America as part of its production strategy aimed at extracting the remaining gold left behind by previous generations through the use of modern technology. Two notable properties of interest include the Cadillac East Property in Quebec, Canada and the Mohave Project located in Arizona – both offering potential for the profitable production of gold, positioning KGS favorably to investors looking for stable assets that can withstand short-term price volatility.”

How Technology Can Help the Mining Sector Comply with Global Tailings Standards

September 10, 2020 10:45:27

Technology will play a vital role in helping mining companies come to terms with the Global Industry Inspection Standards guidelines. The set rules aim to improve the mining methods to stop human injuries and help in the conservation of the environment during mining. In collaboration with International Council on Metals and Mining and Principles for Responsible Investment, United Nations Environmental Program has decided to come up with these guidelines to curb the continuous accidents experienced while the mining process is ongoing.

It has been noted that what is accelerating these accidents are the multiple tools that the miners use. Additionally, a lack of understanding of the golden threads has also put miners at risk. It is because they are ignoring the signs of tailing disasters. For this to be managed, the use of technology…

Coal and Nuclear Energy Remain Essential to Meet US Energy Demand

September 8, 2020 13:40:23

The high production of natural gas, especially from Shale, has made the U.S. think that they do not require coal and nuclear energy to meet the high electricity demand. This is a big misconception since the two sources of energy are still needed to help supply the much-required electricity in the country. Since the economy of America is growing at a rapid rate, depending on one source of energy is very risky hence the need to diversify to various sources of energy.

High Demand for Electricity

Due to the increasing electricity demand, it will be difficult for America to supply enough power using one source of energy. According to research, electricity demand is expected to rise by 20% by the year 2040. Therefore, producing enough power to meet the demand using one source of energy…

Swiftly Switching to Renewable Energy Could Cause Further Issues

September 8, 2020 11:55:49

In the U.S. energy markets right now, more advocates are calling for clean energy alternatives like solar and wind power to be inducted in to change the country’s electricity portfolio. Analysts however caution against replacing nuclear and coal power plants as they say this could pose a threat to the national grid’s resilience and reliability.

Practically, the main reason many are against this is because they’re concerned about the speed of renewable energy transformation. Despite specialists choosing to frame the energy debate in a new vs old setting, there are many valid reasons as to why we should question the viability of rapidly moving from on-demand, easily dispatchable baseload power to the discontinuous…

MiningNewsBreaks – Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR) Delivers Notice to Debenture Holders, to Reach Debt-Free Status by October

September 8, 2020 10:47:31

Energy Fuels (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR), the largest uranium mining company in the United States, has announced a cash redemption of all outstanding debentures; the redemption will result in the company being debt free by Oct. 6, 2020. To reach this significant milestone, the company announced that it had delivered a notice to holders of currently outstanding debentures, which it plans to redeem on Oct. 6, 2020. The announcement notes that the debentures are redeemable for an amount equal to 101% of their principal amount plus accrued and unpaid interest up to but excluding the redemption date. “Energy Fuels is proud to announce that we are paying off the remainder of our debt and that we will be debt free on October 6, 2020,” Energy Fuels president and CEO Mark S. Chalmers said in the press release. “Many junior uranium producers and developers around the world are currently incurring significant amounts of debt to fund exploration and development activities and to cover corporate overheads. However, without sufficient cash flow, servicing this debt can become extremely burdensome and destructive to shareholder value. Instead, Energy Fuels has focused on cleaning up our balance sheet with minimal impact to our shareholders.”

Why America Needs to Revise its Mining Regulations to Boost Industrialization, Employment

September 4, 2020 14:21:59

The U.S. is forecast to become the leading nation globally in manufacturing, surpassing the most renowned high manufacturers such as China. This will be catalyzed by the sufficient workforce, the new technologies, and the low energy costs. Though this may be good news to the manufacturers, some challenges must be seriously addressed.

The American manufacturing industries are using varieties of metals and minerals in producing most of their products. Cell phones, electric car batteries, lifesaving hospital devices, and televisions are all manufactured from these metals and minerals. However, most of these minerals are imported and are not mined locally by the U.S. The surveys have shown that America is 100% dependent on minerals from other nations. This dependence makes the manufacturing…

MiningNewsBreaks – Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR) Leading Charge for Domestic Uranium

September 4, 2020 11:24:52

Energy Fuels (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR) is the largest producer of uranium in the United States. As demand increases for clean power, all eyes are on nuclear, which produces zero carbon emissions and zero air pollution in the process – called fusion – of splitting uranium atoms to produce energy. The growing demand for clean energy positions Energy Fuels for opportunity as the producer of over one-third of all uranium for the United States, a nation that consumes a whopping 55 million pounds of this commodity each year yet produces only 1% of its needs (http://ibn.fm/uDDHU). A recent article discusses the issue of drawing down finite inventories as the U.S. imports the majority of its uranium from foreign countries, and a charge for domestic sourcing. The piece reads, “Energy Fuels is leading a charge to change this, while maintaining its commitment to operating green. Over the past few years, the company has led industry efforts to have the U.S. government recognize the importance of domestically produced uranium. These efforts have included the 2018–2019 Uranium Section 232 (http://ibn.fm/AAas5), the Nuclear Fuel Working Group (http://ibn.fm/EvJTO) and the U.S. strategic uranium reserve (http://ibn.fm/zVth0).”

  • Gold prices touched historical high in August 2020, rising to $2,075/oz on back of dollar depreciation, growing economic uncertainty
  • Kingman Minerals is currently working to develop its mining interest in Arizona, USA as well as Quebec, Canada
  • A previous non-NI 43 101 compliant study of Kingman Mineral’s Arizona site carried out in 1985 found potential reserves of up to 664,000 ounces of gold, 2.6 million ounces of silver

Kingman Minerals (TSX.V: KGS), a Canadian-listed gold miner with extensive claims in key mining jurisdictions spanning the North American continent, finds itself in the middle of one of the most intriguing precious metal bull markets of all time with gold prices touching a record high in early August 2020 – rising to an intraday level of $2,075.47/oz. The Future for Clean Coal Technology: Carbon Storage and Capture

September 4, 2020 10:14:13

Despite the growing use of wind and solar energy in addition to inexpensive and clean natural gas, clean coal technology is still needed.

Clean coal technology is mostly used to mean carbon emitted from a power plant and is stored underground, carbon storage and capture or (“CCS”) in short.

In spite of being closely associated with coal, CCS is a clean technology for any fossil fuels. Any power producing plant that burns a fuel and generates carbon…

Why US Reliance on Foreign Minerals is Risky

September 3, 2020 11:19:24

The misconception behind not mining the crude minerals in the U.S. is causing the country to be reliant on foreign minerals, and should be eliminated immediately. America’s best step is to come up with practical and well-laid strategies that will govern the mining of those minerals. By doing this, the U.S. will not depend on other nations for the minerals required to manufacture consumer goods and sophisticated weapons.

Why America is adamant in not mining its minerals

Some members of Congress and environmentalists are the biggest obstacles to the U.S. mining its minerals. This is hard to comprehend as they should be the ones leading from the front in the campaign to extract those minerals locally. Some of the major minerals that the U.S. is importing are copper, which is used to manufacture various items, such as wind turbines, electric…

EV Sector Growth Triggers Extra Demand for Coal and Natural Gas

September 3, 2020 09:24:47

The electric vehicles (“EVs”) market is growing swiftly. For instance, electric vehicle sales in the U.S. in 2017 rose by almost 30%, and this translates into approximately 200,000 units. Given the low gas prices that are a marketing strategy to incentivize consumers to stick with diesel and gas cars, the increase makes it all the more impressive.

Globally, there are lots of initiatives to ban the sale of oil vehicles, with the biggest reason behind this being clearing the skies of smog-filled cities. India, China, Norway, France, Netherlands as well as the UK have expressed their desire to phase out diesel and gas vehicles in the decade to come. In Norway, electric vehicle sales make up 33% of all car sales, showing how effective government incentives…

DeepGreen Metals and Researchers to Collaborate On Seabed Exploration Project

September 2, 2020 14:33:51

DeepGreen Metals, a start-up from Canada intent on extracting battery metals such as manganese, cobalt, copper and nickel from the bottom of the sea, has partnered up with various universities as well as scientific research institutions on its deep-sea exploration program. MiningNewsBreaks – A.I.S. Resources Ltd. (TSX.V: AIS) Announces Progress on Yalgogrin Orogenic Gold Project

September 2, 2020 12:03:15

A.I.S. Resources (TSX.V: AIS) today announced that due diligence on the Yalgogrin Orogenic Gold Project has been completed with a three-day project inspection of the historic mines and geology on ELA6030 and EL5891. Among other highlights in the update, the company announced that 12 drill core samples from EL5891 have been verified as correct and show a strong correlation. “With 11 km strike length of known gold workings, and production over 15,000 oz from surface workings, the assay results are what we were expecting. This gives us confidence going forward with our highly prospective gold project in the Lachlan Fold Belt in NSW. And the geology and topography we examined gives us additional assurance that further exploration will be rewarding,” said A.I.S. Resources CEO Phillip Thomas in the press release. “The Asia-Wyalong and Talmore mine areas displayed geology consistent with the occurrence of gold. And the numerous pits and historic workings give us strong indications where to explore. To develop a drill target program, we had detailed discussions with geophysics consultants about conducting an IP survey over the key areas of interest. We also met with the drill team to discuss the area’s geology. Preparation of the Option Definitive Agreement for the initial acquisition of 60% is progressing well. Upon completion we will be able to close the transaction. All technical due diligence has been finalised and the returns for the NSW Resources and Geoscience Division have been completed.”

Are All Mountains Rich in Precious Stones?

September 1, 2020 15:05:25

Apart from gemstones like pearl and amber which are not minerals, all other gemstones are made within the crust of the earth through geological activities after which they are pushed up near the surface.

The geological processes that form these precious stones include the formations of different rock types such as sedimentary, metamorphic or igneous rocks.

Sedimentary rocks usually form when rock is weakened, then the rock fragments are transported either by wind or water. After this, the fragments are compressed over a period of time, thus producing these stones.

August 31, 2020 09:05:45

Many industries have been affected by the pandemic, mining being one of them. Mining operations have been stalled as a result, with many companies facing a challenge on whether to reduce operations or shut down. Some whose operations include mining underground are faced with a challenge on how to operate in these conditions which may increase the contamination risk, especially through handovers.

Additionally, many firms have camps on site which house workers during site operations. Infections in these camps could lead to the shutting down of remote operations, making it the biggest risk that miners are facing.

Bauxite Production Expected to Decline Marginally due to COVID-19 Measures

August 28, 2020 09:35:51

GlobalData predicts a decline of 0.1% in global bauxite mine production in 2020. The decline, which is about 344 megatons, is as a result of the short-term suspension of mining activity following the exponential rise in cases of COVID-19 around the world.

Australia, the biggest bauxite producer in the world, could see an increase of 1.9%, roughly 107.2 kilotons, this year. This is largely due to the effective measures that were taken by the Australian government to limit the transmission of the virus during the early stages.

August 27, 2020 09:05:22

As technology advances and incidents of cybersecurity threats become common, authentication technologies constantly have to keep evolving. Many experts are now looking into password authentication alternatives such as biometrics, multi-factor authentication and behavioral analysis.

Generally, accounts get hacked because of poorly managed, weak or easy to guess passwords.  Below, we discuss the most common misconceptions concerning passwords:

Myth: Biometrics Solve all Security Problems

Biometrics offer an easy way to remember passwords, by not having to. All you need is your finger for access. This is a secure authentication method when you have single-factor authentication. Gold Continues to Reign Supreme Amid Price Volatility: Kingman Minerals Ltd. (TSX.V: KGS) Increasing Gold Production in Anticipation of Record Highs

August 26, 2020 11:17:48
  • Gold continues to post record highs despite recent volatility
  • Gold price broke previous 2011 ceiling of $1921 per ounce
  • KGS plans to increase gold production at historic gold mining sites using new technologies
  • KGS entered into option agreements to obtain 100% ownership of the Mohave Project in Arizona and Cadillac East Property in Quebec, Canada

Despite negative headlines focused on recent price drops (http://ibn.fm/XCUAS), the price of gold continues to set record highs, eclipsing the effects of recent volatility. Kingman Minerals (TSX.V: KGS), a Canada-based mining company focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of gold and silver properties in North America, is planning to increase gold production in anticipation of rising prices by sourcing and developing historic mining sites for new drilling campaigns that extract the remaining wealth using innovative, safe and cost-effective technology.

The price of gold recently took a “plunge” according to experts at Forbes closing at nearly $1,900 at the time of printing. While the noted drop in the price was substantial, this level is still among the highest seen so far in 2020, and not far off from its record high of $1,921 last seen in…

Overloading trucks on a regular basis compromises the structure of a truck putting it under severe stress.

The following are some reasons to utilize weighing scales in mining sites.

Increases Production

By following payload compliance protocols, mining companies can grow their production output. Industrial weighing machines allow operators to stack units within the hauling trucks’ weight range.

Why Truck Rental Partners are a Mining Company’s Best Friend

August 25, 2020 15:05:22

All mining operations depend on having the right vehicles to move people and materials from one place to another. For efficient operations, companies need reliable and durable modes of transportation. Truck rental companies often address the transportation needs of mining companies.

The transportation requirements of a mining operation can change at a moment’s notice, with different trucks needed for different jobs such as the heavy duty cargo vans, 3/4 to 1 ton trucks used to securely carry materials as well as individuals or commercial grade half ton trucks.

This is why truck rental partners are the best option, because you can exchange vehicles from different sites with the one needed at a particular location.

Mining Waste Management and Disposal Methods

August 25, 2020 09:05:55

Mining produces a lot of waste which should be disposed of properly. Improper waste disposal leads to soil, water and air pollution. There are various types of mining. They include coal mining, metal, landfill mining, oil and gas extraction and non-metal ore mining. This means there are also different types of mining waste. These include:

  • Mine Wastewater: This wastewater is produced using different ways in mines and possesses different contamination levels. Water exposed to mining processes is acidic and can pollute the local water sources. This process, commonly referred to as acid mine drainage, contributes to water pollution. To decrease the amount of this water generated in mining sites, careful monitoring of the water and proper water management strategies are required.

Canada’s Advanced Mining Industry is in Need of 100,000 Workers

August 20, 2020 14:35:42

With almost half of Canada’s present mining sector workforce over the age of 45 and 60,000 persons expected to retire in the next decade, the industry is facing a serious shortage of labor supply. In addition, projections also show that a further 25,000 to 30,000 people will leave the sector for various reasons. Over the next 10 years, it is estimated that roughly 100,000 new workers will be needed in order to meet the sector’s labor supply requirements.

There are many forces molding the coming generation of workers in the mining sector with the dominant ones being inclusion, diversity and technology. Studies have shown that immigrants, indigenous people and women are severely underrepresented in the mining sector, with women for instance making up a mere 17% of the mining workforce. It should also be noted…

A New Use for Inoperative UK Coal Mines is Being Piloted

August 19, 2020 14:49:36

Non-operational coal mines in the UK may yet have a new purpose; heating businesses and homes. This will be done by using warm water from flooded mines. The mines may also be used in horticulture to provide heat to growing houses. In the coastal town of Seaham close to Newcastle, in the Seaham Garden Village, 750 homes are being designed that will use water drawn from the unused mines. This will be a steady heat source, unchanged by exterior elements and having the ability to supply heating energy of 6 megawatts with no carbon outflows.

The head of innovation at the Coal Authority in the UK, Jeremy Crooks, stated that at the moment, pumping stations processed 100 megawatts of heat energy. As there is currently no use for this heat, it evaporates into the surroundings. The project is estimated to be 10% below gas heating pricing. However, many factors influence the amount of heat a mine can produce and it should be noted that the age, location…

Underwater Mining: An effective way to access mineral resources

August 19, 2020 14:19:16

This technology may lead to the opening…

Identifying Mining Pollution by Use of Thin Films

August 18, 2020 16:42:43

Over the years, various techniques have been used to check for inorganic and organic pollutants that are present in the environment. However, the extensive distribution of many different species that are present in soil and water among other environmental bodies complicates the capacity to attain correct analysis of these pollutants. In order to tackle these issues, thin film technology is used as it has shown to be highly reliable in picking out pollutants, especially those that come from mining sites.

During mining, various pollutants can be released and they could eventually contaminate the environment nearby. Several of these are highly toxic pollutants that are used in mining processes. They include heavy metals such as cadmium, cobalt, arsenic, lead and copper as well as acids. Organic substances that are pollutants include compounds like polychlorinated biphenyls while inorganic compounds that are pollutants include…

Natural or Synthetic Diamonds: Which is better?

August 18, 2020 12:50:14

While most of the mined diamond is industrial grade, only 3% of this is used in industry as synthetic diamonds cover the remaining 97%. This is because they can be manufactured in large quantities and tailored to various applications. About 70% of mined diamonds are traded for use in different industries. These diamonds are known as bort and possess many great qualities. Diamonds are the hardest materials in existence and have a very high thermal conductivity. They can be used in drilling, grinding, polishing and cutting and are also considered cost-effective abrasives as they cut faster and last longer.

Diamonds possess optical, thermal, chemical and electrical properties, making them ideal for wire drawing and manufacturing of lenses for laser…

Agriculture and Mining: Can They Coexist?

August 17, 2020 12:35:49

Mining is the extraction of minerals, ores, clay, fossil fuels, gravel and stone, among other commodities. The increase in demand for minerals, such as gold and silver, has influenced a steady rise in metal mining and mineral extraction from the ore over the years. The mining industry provides different industries with raw materials.

It is noted that the world market is inclined…

MiningNewsBreaks – Bullfrog Gold Corp. (CSE: BFG) (OTCQB: BFGC) (FSE: 11B) Achieves Program Objectives, Eyes Highly Prospective Undrilled Area

August 14, 2020 11:19:07

Bullfrog Gold Corp. (CSE: BFG) (OTCQB: BFGC) (FSE: 11B),a Delaware corporation engaged in the acquisition, exploration, and development of U.S. gold and silver properties, earlier this month announced assay results from the final six holes of the 25 recently drilled at its Bullfrog Project. The news, coupled with recently issued analyst recommendations, provides Bullfrog with a positive outlook. A recent article discussing this quotes Bullfrog Gold CEO Dave Beling, who states “The drill assay results achieved our objectives to further define resources and ultimate limits of proposed expansions to the Bullfrog and MS pits. The program also fulfilled a final work commitment for the company to purchase a 100% interest in lands under lease from Barrick by mid-September 2020. The first two holes in the Paradise Ridge target did not intercept any significant mineralization, but this large undrilled area continues to be highly prospective and needs several more drill holes to fully explore and assess its potential that extends nearly 2,000 meters to the northwest.”

About Bullfrog Gold Corp.

Bullfrog Gold is a Delaware corporation that controls the commanding land and mineral positions in the Bullfrog Mine area where Barrick produced 2.3 million ounces of gold by conventional milling beginning in 1989 and ending in 1999. Measured and indicated 43-101 compliant resources were estimated in mid-2017 by Tetra Tech Inc. at 525,000 ounces of gold, averaging 1.02 gold g/t in base case pit plans. Most of these resources are in the north extension to the Bullfrog pit. Inferred resources within these pit plans were estimated at 110,000 ounces of gold averaging 1.2 g/t. It is noted that the three-year trailing average gold prices are now more than $160 higher than the $1,200 price used in the mid-2017 Canadian NI 43-101 resource estimates, which were also based on a heap leach gold recovery of 72% compared to the average 85% leach test recoveries recently achieved on four bulk samples. Water Purity Maintenance and Effective Waste Management in a Quarry

August 13, 2020 18:16:46

Mines are excavations in the earth that have been dug in order to extract geological materials and valuable minerals found in deposits under the ground. These minerals include gemstones, coals, metals, limestone, potash, gravel and rock salt.

Why is managing quarries necessary?

A quarry forms when excavation of rock like gravel or sandstone occurs in an open-pit mine. The presence of a quarry in a given area can affect the surrounding environment in different ways, from changing the chemical composition of water when it dissolves in it to inhibiting photosynthesis through the dust from the mine that settles on the vegetation. Trucks leaving the quarries…
